I love APBA, but as a very active pastor and business owner, I have little time. Reading these articles took only about 15 minutes during lunch, so thank you for the small pleasure today.Paul Pavaohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03135622914331255065noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-45866818483845756.post-40692465604870425332019-01-15T20:22:19.100-05:002019-01-15T20:22:19.100-05:00short story. my grandmother died few years ago. my...short story. my grandmother died few years ago. my dad move in house where old grandmother are. my dad are throwing out junk. i saw abpa baseball cards in very old wrappers and more than 500 cards are there. he said its is trash. but i doubt that is very valuable. can you tell me that is worth lots and lots of money? my friend told me that man sold his abpa baseball cards for 8 millon dollars. i have box full of cards with me for safety and clean. there are 1900s to 1960s there are look brand new to me.Ian smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11897242502025211034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-45866818483845756.post-18735628301129441642017-07-12T08:58:53.668-04:002017-07-12T08:58:53.668-04:00Thanks, Shay! Pete Rose is indeed in the set, along with actual Hall-of-Famers & our guys Trammell & Whitaker among others that either belong or are in the Hall of Fame debate. Lou Gehrig went #1 overall.Shane Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09594769293801380160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-45866818483845756.post-51121400129276373242017-07-12T08:57:00.454-04:002017-07-12T08:57:00.454-04:00I had a friend do a similar project, and he played...I had a friend do a similar project, and he played a tournament out with those teams. All very interesting, I don't blame you with your decision of placing Greenberg with 40-60' Group.Shane Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09594769293801380160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-45866818483845756.post-36999479032119969322017-07-07T16:45:41.227-04:002017-07-07T16:45:41.227-04:00Great article, and i look forward to the next inst...Great article, and i look forward to the next installment! Interesting stuff about Glavine, in particular. As far as "A" starters, my recently completed 1969 NL had a whopping TEN grade A starters, which frankly got a little bit wearisome. I do agree with your larger point, though, that "A" should be a rare grade, given only to the best of the best. In past seasons I have done, there have been between one and four, and in my current project there is only one.

So, is Pete Rose in the set? Did Ty Cobb go first in the draft, or Ruth? or someone else?Fireblossomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07040525704916368792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-45866818483845756.post-13332601395652400482017-07-05T15:43:50.725-04:002017-07-05T15:43:50.725-04:00i have been messing around with the set. If you br...i have been messing around with the set. If you break the set in into the following groups with 27 man rosters, it breaks pretty neatly: Pre1900, 1900-1920, 1920-1940, 1940-1960, 1960-1980, 1980-2000, Negro Leaguers...I have been thinking about homebrewing enough players to augment those already there do a 2000-present so there would be eight neat sets. A very few players are close calls, but far, far less than you think. Greenberg was the only real close call, but I moved him to the 1940-60 group because I couldn't see him getting an at bat with a team with Gehrig/Foxx/Sisler already on the team. bbcard1https://www.blogger.com/profile/10783863311523803278noreply@blogger.com
