BRAVES' JAMES PITCHES NO-NO AGAINST A's!

"Seattle Bill" no-hits Oakland!
"Seattle Bill" James of the 1914 Boston Braves becomes the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in the Stars & Stripes ("Crazy 48's") League, against the 1971 Oakland Athletics. James also struck out 9 batters, while walking two & plunking Mike Epstein with a pitch.

The Braves would score three runs in the bottom of the fifth, 2 of those runs came on a triple by Rabbit Maranville. Hank Gowdy put the game away with a 2-run HR in the bottom of the sixth, making it 6-0.

No matter how much closer the Tigers got the Jays would inch forward a little bit more, until the top of the ninth, Dick McAuliffe scored on Al Kaline's ground out to finally tie the game in the top of the ninth, with Henke blowing the save like Hiller did the game before. Speaking of Hiller, Hiller came in the bottom of the 10th, this time with the game tied, and the Jays deliver another walk-off winner in the 10th! This time with a RBI single by Cliff Johnson!
