Despite having half of the amount of New York's hits, the Browns set the tone with Mark Christman's 3-run double in the bottom of the second; Later the Browns would get a clutch 2-run double from Eugene Moore, who came in for the injured Chet Laabs.

This marks two consecutive losses to the 44' Browns for the 1927 Yankees, the same Browns that the Yankees swept easily in the APBA Tournament of Champions' first round. The Yankees were ranked #1 overall to the Browns #64 overall in the tourney.
