The Jays scored 5 late runs in the last three innings against the Red Sox' shaky bullpen, to steal the game from Boston. Lloyd Moseby hit a two-run HR during the 8th off of Clyde Dreisewerd. Rudy York had a two-run blast, for his team-leading 2nd HR of the season.

Rabbit Maranville hit a solo HR for the Boston Braves, as Butch Schmidt, Red Smith & Leslie Mann each added two hits. Lefty Tyler kept the Royals' lineup in check, keeping them scoreless through the first seven innings. Darrell Porter would break through for the Royals only runs with a two-run HR in the 8th.
