1995 Indians 9 10 1 F
Kansas City (3-4) / Cleveland (3-4)
WP- K.Hill (1-1) /CG (1)
LP- Splittorff (1-1)
Ken Hill was in complete control, the four runs in the top of the ninth will mess up his stat-line, but he gave the Indians' bullpen a much needed break after their previous series with Detroit. The Indians are also pretty excited to see their lineup waking up, the past few games -- and this has been without Jim Thome & Sandy Alomar, Jr.; Thome returns next game for the Tribe, as Alomar will still be on the DL for another 12 games.
The Indians' Eddie Murray went 2-for-3, with a HR & double -- plus 3 RBI, while Pete LaCock (KC) came off the bench to rest some of the starters, to hit a 2-run HR.
1953 Dodgers 4 10 2
1917 White Sox 5 11 1 F
Brooklyn (2-5) / Chicago (3-4)
WP- R.Russell (1-0)
LP- Labine (0-1)
Clem Labine couldn't close things out for the Dodgers, as the White Sox collected four consecutive singles in the bottom of the ninth, including Chick Gandil's walk-off single (scoring in Happy Felsch).

The Pirates' Bill Mazeroski, who entered the game with only one hit in 19 at-bats, had a pretty-good performance with 3 hits (double) & RBI in a losing effort.

The Cubs' Jack Pfiester was pitching a no-no entering the 8th inning, when the leadoff hitter that inning, Ed Kranepool broke it up with a single, he would later score on a error by Joe Tinker that would tie the game. Kenneth Boswell would hit the go-ahead triple to drive in Art Shamsky in the top of the 10th off of Orval Overall. Cubs have now lost two straight.
