The results of Day 2 of the Amazing April 64-team Tournament. I failed to mention this is only a single-game elimination, not the Tournament of Champions (in which I was doing with series) and is paused due to the fact I still need to order the GTOP Volume III from APBA. Teams are allowed to do 1-2 punch with their rotations and the one starter from the other game, can come in for relief if he necessarily has to.
Once again, teams were ranked by Pythagorean Records in Baseball Reference.com.

Matt Nokes' three run HR (2nd HR of the day) in the top of the 8th would give back the lead to the
1987 Detroit Tigers.
Kiki Cuyler's solo in bottom of ninth would pull Cubs within a run, but
Mike Henneman ends up closing the door.

The Yankees' offense was quiet other than
Babe Ruth &
Bobby Meusel's productive bats. Ruth went 2-for-3, with 2 doubles -- while Meusel went 3-for-3, with RBI double.
Lou Gehrig did have an RBI triple. Brewers' players were apparently upset at the umpire crew for calling the game, in which Babe Ruth of the Yankees replied "Like you babies had a chance!".

Evan Longoria breaks up the scoreless game in the top of the 8th, with a solo HR --
Dioner Navarro adds a RBI single that inning.
Hank Bauer would hit a one-out solo HR in bottom of the ninth, but the
1953 New York Yankees would fall in a upset to the
2008 Tampa Bay Rays. Bauer had two hits, with pitcher
Whitey Ford, but the rest of the team could only manage one other hit. Ford pitched relatively strong through 7 scoreless innings, allowing 4 hits (even though he did cough up 5 walks).
James Shields lived up to his nickname "Big Game" with complete-game victory & 8 K's.

A bizarre game in which Rich Harden of the 2008 Chicago Cubs was pitching a no-hitter into the 11th inning until White Sox' starting pitcher Doc White broke it up with a single; John Donahue would score in White on a RBI triple, Donahue later scored on a sac fly -- giving White a 2-0 lead, which he would finish off the Cubs with the tying run at the plate (Ryan Theriot on 2nd). Both pitchers had 10 K's each.

Christy Mathewson was not sharp, but he helped his cause with a two-run triple during the bottom of the 8th inning. The N.Y. Giants had three RBI triples in this one (Bresnahan & Devlin had the others). The 2012 San Francisco Giants didn't help themselves with three errors, while
Matt Cain was lousy through 4.2 innings -- the bullpen helped get them back into the game.

Bucky Walters (CIN) had his no-hitter broken up by

Buck McCormick's two-run HR during the bottom of the 8th gave the Reds' extra insurance.
